One
of the most interesting places in Kamchatka is the
upper reaches of the Nalycheva River, located behind
the volcano chain of Avacha group. It is surrounded
by volcanoes Kozelsky, Avacha, Koryaksky, Arick and
Aag - from the south, and Zhupanovsky, Yurievsky and
Dzendzur - from the west, all of which are covered
with glaciers and snowcaps, make this place a magnificent
spectacle. Volcanoes with their scorching uncooled
magma create very favorable conditions for hot and
cold mineral water springs. The largest springs are
located on the edge of a large glade, Medvezhya Tundra.
Here too is a hot water river whose temperature is
40C, nearby hot springs make for delightful bathing.
Aag's Narzan is located at the foothills of the extinct
Aag Volcano (Narzan is a kind of mineral water). Here,
among rocks covered with a thin coating of mineral
deposits small streams of cold water seep out from
beneath the stones. |
